After a few days of this he finally cajoled a nurse into giving him ice chips. His friend told me that there was a look of supreme happiness on his face. I can imagine that had it been fruit he would have been moved to tears as well. You've provided a wonderful mental image to pair with the Tree of Life story. Thank you!
