Connor, it was an inspiring talk, wasn't it, to say the least. He not only has a way with words, but his sincere and strong testimony beneath those words make them reach our hearts.

This was, by far, my favorite talk from conference. Elder Holland's eloquence and boldness speak to me like nobody else quite can. I love that guy!

That must have been a wonderful experience, RoAnn. It's hard to describe adequately what it is like to feel the Spirit strongly, but it's a wonderful feeling. And just reading your comment brought a bit of that feeling to me now. Michelle, your friend's description was a good one--it not only expresses what it was like at Conference, but brings alive the description in Acts 2 by giving me a stronger sense of what it was like to be there at that time.

My friend described that experience as "Pentecostal" (as in Day of Pentecost from Acts 2) because the Spirit was sooooo strong.

Thanks for this beautiful summary of Elder Holland's talk, Mary.

I, too, was deeply affected by Elder Holland's talk. I was present in the conference center that day, and experienced that incredible moment when everyone rose to their feet during the closing hymn in heartfelt gratitude for living prophets in this dispensation.

I was later told by a GA that President Hinckley has said that every time he sings that song, he is thinking of the prophet Joseph; and he wept tears in Joseph's honor that day along with the rest of us--who may have been thinking more of our own dear President Hinckley as we sang those words.

How blessed we are to have the modern technology to send the words of living prophets throughout the world twice a year. Whether we are in the Conference Center, or watching the proceedings via satellite on the other side of the world, we can feel the same Spirit, and be motivated to follow the words of counsel that we know will bring us closer to our Father in Heaven.

Thanks, Michelle. I imagine that was a very spiritual session of conference. It is a wonderful privilege to be able to listen to prophets speak, isn't it? Elder Holland captured the blessings that come from that privilege.

My friend attended this last session of Conference and shared that after Elder Holland's talk and Pres. Hinckley's talk, the last hymn (We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet) was particularly powerful. Our leaders were all in tears, and apparently the entire audience rose to its feet while the song was being sung. Elder Holland knew he would be speaking before Pres. Hinckley, and you can tell he put some serious contemplation and Spirit-seeking into that talk. I don't think I can ever remember a session that was so powerful, actuall. I am so grateful to know we have prophets to lead us! Thank you for writing about this...it was one of my favorite talks.
